About the Author
Lew Collins, writer of Out of Competition, awarded the Kenneth Patchen Award for
the Innovative Novel 2023, published, JEF Books 2024, and Uncorrected Proof,
ElephantEars Press 2008, lives and writes in France.
Born in Western Australia, after a series of laboring jobs, Lew first worked
professionally as a filmmaker and screenwriter in Hong Kong, his filmmaking taking
him throughout Asia, twice into China pre-modernisation. Heading to Sydney to
make films and videos, he turned to novels, living in New York, Rome, London and
Cannes.
