    Email the editor with a short note about the project.

  2. Sample read

    Send the first 20 to 30 pages. Editor reads, replies with thoughts.

  3. Scope agreement

    Tier, timeline, and price agreed in writing before any deeper work.

  4. Work

    The actual editorial work, in iterations, with regular check-ins.
