Vahid Paeez

Vahid Paeez is an Iranian-born author, technical writer, and aerospace professional based on the Pacific coast of the United States. His publisher describes him as a "diligent immigrant" from "the land of the Thousand-and-One-Nights," whose aesthetic, moral, and intellectual sensibilities stayed sharp through the work of recreating himself after arriving on the shores of the Pacific. He is bilingual in Farsi and English, and his personal history is coded in his fiction rather than stated in his publisher biographies.

His working life is in aerospace and technical communication. He is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, where he led the Human Factors sub-technical committee for roughly four years, and he has worked as a technical writer, instructor, and quality auditor across two continents in two languages. In 2016 the American Society for Quality named him one of its "New Voices for Quality." His monograph on the subject, I Think and Write, Therefore You Are Confused: Technical Writing and The Language Interface, was published by CRC Press and Routledge in 2021; it draws neuro-linguistic programming, human information processing, and safety management together out of problems he met in aviation technical publications. He has also written aerospace safety and computer-networking titles, and translated Erfan Matour's Discovering the Mystery of the Power Within from Persian into English in 2020.

His JEF Books title, Longing Letters Lasting, Lasting Letters Longing (2025), marks his entry into literary experimental fiction. The collection treats language as the medium through which meaning is made, not found, echoing Beckett's line that "saying is inventing." Surreal vignettes of "legless scarecrows" and "snowmen in the land of the word-flame" carry a philosophical argument that words outlive death.
