Submission Guidelines

The Journal of Experimental Fiction and JEF Books will be open for submissions from June 1 to August 1.

The Journal of Experimental Fiction will be reading for a forthcoming anthology. We are looking for experimental fiction and material related or tangential to experimental fiction, including critical essays and book reviews. The theme of the issue will be Polyphony..

JEF Books will be considering experimental fiction for its book series. We are especially looking for experimental novels, anti-novels, and collections of experimental work. You should be familiar with our publications and the sorts of material we publish.

In both cases, send submissions to Send your work as either .doc, .docx, or .pdf attachments. We do not accept Google Docs. If your file is too large to fit into an email, send us an email inquiry about which file sharing services we accept. You may also mail physical copies of submissions to Eckhard Gerdes, Editor, JEF Books, PO Box 6281, Aurora, IL 60598. If you are sending physical copies, make sure you enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for a response. If you need your manuscript back, make sure the envelope has enough postage on it for your manuscript’s return. If all you need is a response, we can email that to you if you provide your email address with your submission.
